How do I join NGPO?
You automatically become a part of NGPO when your child joins Naperville Gymnastics club competitive team. It does not cost anything to join NGPO.
Is NGPO part of a Naperville Gymnastics?
No. We are a separate non-profit organization run by the parents of NGC team members created to support the team.
What does NGPO do?
NGPO supports the team through fundraisers and activities designed to help the girls both bond as a team and grow as individuals.
Who makes up the NGPO Board?
Members of the board are all NGC parents who have volunteered their time and energy to support all of the team members of NGC. They receive no compensation or reward for their participation.
What types of events and activities does NGPO do?
We have held many different activities over the years. Every year we support a holiday celebration and party where the girls can spend time with their team mates and coaches in a setting outside of the gym. Our biggest event of the year is our year end banquet, which celebrates the season and all of the girl’s accomplishments. We also strive to give back to the community through volunteer work. One cause we annually support is our team trip to Feed My Starving Children.
What type of Fundraisers does NGPO hold & how do I participate?
Past fundraisers have included leotard re-sales, cookie dough sales, wrapping paper sales. Our largest fundraiser, held every year, is our Flip ‘r Gymnastics Meet. Whenever an event is held you will be notified through email about the event. Please also regularly check your gymnast’s folder at the gym for information.
What is the Flip'R Gymnastics Meet?
This is a sanctioned USAG meet put on by NGPO once every season. The funds from this meet are used to pay for the holiday event, year-end banquet and other expenses that support the team as a whole.
Am I required to work at the gymnastics meet?
Parents are strongly encouraged to be part of a committee and to work at the gymnastics meet. The meet literally cannot happen without everyone’s participation. Generally you are asked to join a committee, work two sessions of the meet and either set up or tear down. This is a very important event for NGPO and the club.
What questions should I be contacting the board about?
All questions concerning team payments, costs and expenses, meets, skills, levels should be directed to the gym. If there is an issue pertaining to the whole team or gym as a whole you would like to bring to the attention of the board, please feel free to do so. NGPO can act as the line of communication between parents and the gym. We are here to support each other!
